1. Introduction

At Integrity Domiciliary Care Services (IDCS) Limited, we are committed to the highest standards of ethical and professional behaviour. This Code of Conduct outlines the principles, values, and expectations that guide all employees, contractors, and representatives of IDCS in the delivery of safe, respectful, and high-quality services.

This policy applies to all staff, carers, management, agency workers, and service providers working under the IDCS brand.

2. Purpose

The purpose of this Code is to:

  • Promote a culture of integrity, responsibility, and accountability

  • Ensure respectful and lawful behaviour in all professional interactions

  • Protect service users, staff, and the reputation of IDCS

  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards, including CQC requirements and the Care Act 2014

3. Our Core Values

All IDCS team members are expected to uphold the following values:

  • Integrity: We act honestly, ethically, and transparently in all dealings

  • Respect: We treat every individual with dignity, fairness, and compassion

  • Professionalism: We deliver services competently, safely, and reliably

  • Confidentiality: We always protect sensitive and personal information

  • Accountability: We take responsibility for our actions and decisions

4. Standards of Behaviour

All staff must:

  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including safeguarding, data protection, and health and safety

  • Arrive punctually for all shifts, meetings, and appointments

  • Dress appropriately and maintain high standards of personal hygiene

  • Never abuse their position of trust or engage in any form of exploitation or harassment

  • Communicate respectfully with service users, families, colleagues, and external partners

  • Avoid accepting gifts or personal favours from clients or their families

  • Report any misconduct, abuse, or breaches of conduct immediately

5. Care Practice Standards

When delivering care, IDCS staff must:

  • Provide person-centred care that respects the choices and dignity of the service user

  • Support independence and inclusion wherever possible

  • Report any changes in the condition or needs of service users promptly

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided

  • Use equipment safely and follow infection prevention protocols

  • Never perform tasks outside their role or training

6. Confidentiality and Data Protection

Staff must:

  • Comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and IDCS's Data Protection Policy

  • Only access, use, or share personal data when authorised and necessary

  • Never disclose confidential information to unauthorised individuals

7. Conflict of Interest

Staff must:

  • Avoid any activities that conflict with the interests of IDCS or its service users

  • Declare any potential or actual conflicts of interest to their line manager

  • Refrain from engaging in secondary employment that may compromise their performance or impartiality

8. Reporting Concerns

All staff must report:

  • Safeguarding concerns or abuse

  • Suspected breaches of this Code

  • Health and safety hazards

  • Any form of discrimination or unethical behaviour

Reports can be made confidentially through the IDCS Whistleblowing Policy.

9. Breach of the Code

Any breach of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. In some cases, breaches may be reported to regulatory or safeguarding authorities.

10. Policy Governance

This Code of Conduct is reviewed annually and approved by the Board of Directors.
